Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Rick Kersten
by Rick Kersten
IRC Handle: Backdraft
Currently employed as an AIX and RedHat Systems Administrator for the past
couple of years. I have my SysAdmin and Engineer Certifications from Red
Hat, but the environment that I work in is restricted to a few (6-8)
servers at any given time. I'm interested in learning an environment that
is larger and more varied than the one I'm in now, since I pretty much just
maintain 6 copies of a single server and a few other systems as required.
Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a 95% Windows shop, so the likelihood of
converting or expanding my realm is minimal. I expect I'll be available at
least 5-10 hours a week on US Central (UTC -06:00) time.

hackfest sessions for Fudcon blacksburg 2012
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
I thought I'd start a thread here about hackfest sessions for the next
North American Fudcon. I'm not sure how many folks can make it, but
hopefully we have a good crowd and can get some good progress made on
some things that are harder to do/discuss remotely.
I'll collect ideas here, and we can add the sessions we think we will
want to the wiki after we reach some consensus...
My list:
Infrastructure Staging revamp: How can we reorg staging to make it more
useful and less hassle? We have all I think agreed it could be more
complete and setup better, but we need to flesh out the details and a
plan of attack.
2 factor auth: Short term I think I personally would like to see us
finish yubikey as 2factor and require it for some groups, but longer
term things like google auth, etc should weigh in. Can we reuse things
from other projects? Can we come up with a map and ask for help?
A hackfest to come up with a plan would be great.
Aprentice program/adding new people brainstorming: I think the
apprentice program has helped some folks, but It still seems like we
have a lot of people introduce themselves and not really get involved.
What could we do to make this better? Classes? A specific list of tasks
and we just assign them one to get them started?
CSI hacking. I think we could flesh out the CSI docs a good deal more
if we can sit down and brainstorm on it.
Any other ideas?

Introduction
by Aditya Patawari
Hey Everyone,
I am Aditya Patawari (irc/fedoraproject.org handle: adimania,
UTC+0530). I work as a system admin and I can work with Puppet and
Python. I have a bit experience in setting up koji and pulp servers
(though I am not an expert). I would like to contribute to fedora
Infrastructure. I have been reading the Infrastructure getting started
page on wiki and I think I would be able to devote 8-10 hours a week.
I would like to work in an environment where I can help out with
puppet. Please let me know if there is anything suitable for me.

[Change Request] Add jobbot1.ibiblio.org to rsync ACLs.
by Ricky Zhou
It looks like ibiblio has changed where they pull from. I see
failed (permission denied) rsync attempts from jobbot1.ibiblio.org on
the i2 mirrors, so this patch changes the ACL entry from
login.ibiblio.org to jobbot1.ibiblio.org.
I sent an email to our ibiblio contact (CCed to admin@), so I don't
plan to push this until they confirm that the change is correct.

Collaboration software
by Tristan Santore
Hi guys,
I just came across this project:
http://openatrium.com/
Maybe this would be more useful than zarafa to all the groups in Fedora ?
Regards,
Tristan

Calendar server
by Pierre-Yves Chibon
Hi,
I already mentioned it quickly on IRC but I thought I would give it more
light here. If we are still looking for a calendar server, I came across
this one today:
http://radicale.org/
- python based (not other dependencies)
- wsgi or daemon or cgi
- Does private and public calendar (although we probably don't want
that)
Authentication:
- supports htpasswd
- supports pypam
- supports ldap
It is rather easy to package, I did a quick src.rpm to test it:
http://pingou.fedorapeople.org/RPMs/Radicale-0.6.3-1.fc16.src.rpm
It is a calendar server and only a calendar server:
- no email client
- no calendar client
It does not fully respect the CalDav specifications:
"The Radicale Server does not and will not support the CalDAV standard.
It supports the CalDAV implementation of different clients (Lightning,
Evolution, Android, iPhone and iCal, more are coming [4])."
source:
http://radicale.org/technical_choices/#oriented-to-calendar-user-agents
So it looks like a light easy and potentially interesting tool.
Questions are:
- Are we still interested by a calendar server ?
- Will that scale ?
- How do we handle authentication ?
- Should we write a FAS plugin ?
- How does it handle group ?
- My feeling is that atm it does not, but maybe we could add this as
part of the FAS integration. One would then be allowed to access /nick/
and /group/ if he is part of 'group'.
Hope this helps :)
