My name is Alex Stephens and I have been a Linux
user for a long time now. I have been using Fedora solely for about 3
years and I think the best way I can give back to the community is to
mirror both the current releases as well as all the archives. I live in
the United States and I have a server in Chicago which has about
10Gbit/s of Tier 1 fiber bandwidth. Storage is not a concern as my
provider leases me unlimited bandwidth and storage space.
I would love
to get a fully synchronized copy of everything Fedora from 17 all the
way back to core 1 and every other file inbetween. I would just love to
rsync this.
Let me know what you would recommend as the best method
for doing this, as well as anything else you may require of me as an
operator.
Please use a tier 1/2 mirror[1] close to you; create an account in the
MirrorManager[2]; register your mirror in the mirror manager;
enter your local netblocks in the mirror manager (if desired); run
report_mirror[3] and as soon as you are listed in the database as up to
date yum (and other clients) will be redirected to your mirror.

Thanks for supporting Fedora!
