I agree - who would we survey as far as design decisions go? We're in
a 6-month release cycle, here - not working on a design for a new
candy bar wrapper at $giantcompany where we need to be working with
test groups to figure out things like, "Is this visually appealing?
Would you eat this? Does the usage of the slim font here make you
think that this candy bar may be less fattening than others?" - so
that our $100M launch of a new candy bar doesn't go awry.

We (I'm not trying to speak for Design here, but Fedora communities /
groups in general) have tons of decisions to make - we can't question
every single decision, every banner, every photograph.  I trust that
Design knows what they're doing - just as I trust that engineering,
infrastructure, docs, and every other group knows what they are doing.

And frankly (not to go offtopic here) - I would really argue against
the broad, constant use of surveys - people tire of them, and we want
to be able to get feedback when we -really really- need it.  Even in
the use of things like the desktop background - formal surveys just
seem overboard.  I think it'd be easier to direct people to something
totally freakin awesome like Design Hub to give things thumbs up /
down. :D
