I believe they invented the delete button a few years ago. Maybe you
should see, if you have that technological marvel, but then I have 100K+
emails in my inbox, and use folders with filters, which works fine for
me, so I am a bit ignorant with regards to various buttons and their
functions.

And just to clarify, I was being sarcastic above, with regards to the
delete button.

Nobody is forcing you to be on mailing lists, but if you want to learn
something and stay abreast of what is going on, you should keep
receiving them! That is how a lot of communication, especially official
communication), takes place. IRC of course, is probably used a precursor
to any mailing lists thread, unless the user does not use IRC at all, of
which I know a few people out there.
