The image you attached is not, and never was, the Fedora logo. The 
official logo is http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo and its usage is 
described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo/UsageGuidelines

Before we had those rules, some people (me included) played with the 
design and produced non-compliant variations, which are NOT to be used.

Regarding the abstract wallpapers you attached, my opinion is they have 
to much contrast and are distracting.
