Each of these things directly affects one or more of the others, and
in my opinion cannot be meaningfully discussed in isolation:

- bootloaders (including bootloader spec)
- partitioning/filesystems
- OS install, updates, upgrades
- resets/statelessness (or lack thereof)
- snapshots/rollbacks
- backup and restore (emphasis on restore which implies something must
repartition)
- application installation
- ostree/Project Atomic

Is sorting out some of the plumbing related interactions, pros & cons,
more the domain of Base WG or Env & Stacks WG?
