Fedora choices make upgrading harder and harder

Hello,

I learned that for new Fedora releases the initrd file, used by
preupgrade, will contain *both* the initrd for the kernel as well as the
install image. (previously also called stage2?)
I think that this takes away upgrade flexibility.
I did not find an explanation that proves my explanation wrong.
Please have a look at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=742677 for the reasons to
bother you here.

Also, while you are at it, please have a look at bz entries like
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500004 and
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504826 as these also make
upgrading via the nicest option impossible.

As I explain in these entries I do think it is not proper to think of
RAID as a 'special setup' in these times.
Also I cannot find any info on what is perhaps happening behind the
scenes w.r.t. this issue, so please enlighten us on how Fedora intends
to fix the RAID upgrade situation.

Thanks.

Kind regards,
Udo
