Imho the best way is to find someone that can prepare a patch to fix the
bug, propose the bug to the maintainer and get a provepackager to apply
the patch if the maintainer does not respond. Also maybe start the
nonresponsive maintainer procedure if there are other people interested
in maintaining the package in question.
