Improving the Fedora boot experience

And if your Fedora boxes are connected through a KVM with USB like mine, 
you need 2-3 seconds just for the keyboard to become ready so that it's 
even possible to send a keystroke.  I really don't get the "let's reduce 
functionality so we can boot faster" mentality.  I'd much rather wait an 
extra few seconds than spend all the time required to adjust configs, risk 
borking the boot loader's config, rebooting, etc. just so that I can do 
what I wanted to the first time 'round!
