As I have stated in a few forums a much bigger win is switching fedpkg
with fedpkg minimal in the srpm-build group in koji that will result in
a much much smaller buildroot to make the srpm and work is underway to
make that happen. at least in terms of generation times of the
buildroots during the koji tasks.

I also do not think make should be removed. I could see a case for gcc
gcc-c++ but it needs further analysis of the 15k odd packages in
fedora to see how many would need to add gcc or gcc-c++ to the
BuildRequires and how many packages would get a slightly faster
buildroot due to not needing gcc or gcc-g++ and having a few less
packages installed.
