</div>There are people who find profanity genuinely offensive. Dealing with it<br>
is a matter of balance; it's obviously intolerable to try and ban it<br>
entirely, but I think it's an equally bad idea to try and argue that,<br>
because _you_ find the concept of bad language being offensive absurd,<br>
it's completely okay to use it entirely gratuitously when you have a<br>
reasonable chance of offending people who disagree.<br>

In other words, as others have said, since this use of profanity is<br>
entirely gratuitous - it's not necessary or valuable in any way<br>
whatsoever - it's a perfectly reasonable choice to patch it out.<br>
