Yes, it's technically possible to put both dashes and dots in package name, although I'm sort of failing to see what the benefit of doing that would be. Is this for readability only? For me, python34-something is more readable than the two variants you propose (but I understand that it's a matter of personal preference and if majority likes one of your variants, we can use it).<br>
