weird artifact appearing in my upper right screen

Update:
I stopped Akonadi and closed down Kontact, moved .local/share/akonadi/ out of 
the way then installed the latest akonadi.i386 0:1.1.1-3
Restarted Akonadi (restart most likely not needed) and Kontact and all is well 
so far.
