Assuming s/sans-serif/serif/.

Strictly speaking, no sans-serif/serif fonts in any East Asian fonts. but it's
well-known that Mincho type face is compatible with serif. plus, I don't think
your objection will be applied to such fonts since for example,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monospaced_font avoids explaining about them.

If you prefer using non-proportional Japanese fonts for serif, I don't have any
objections for that. we can update the priority for ipa-mincho-fonts and
ipa-pmincho-fonts say. but this would be a kind of the preference. I'll keep
ipa-mincho-fonts in serif as fallback though.
