This has somewhat been implemented with the updates policy[1] (which has
been around for quite a while now).

I hope you've filed relevant bugs? :P 
For some reason, I haven't experienced even a single crash this
release :D

I understand this. I just want to be clear on whether ubuntu is the
"easiest to use" distro, or the "easiest to obtain" distro. Since the
community has seen a sort of shift towards making fedora more usable as
compared to cutting edge as earlier, I would not like it to be the
former.
