My two harddisk are as follows<div><br></div><div>hdd A- 80gb (IDE)</div><div>hdd B-250gb(SATA)</div><div><br></div><div>and yes, I guess I figured it out!<br><br>Attached is the output when i booted both of my hard disk <b>individually.</b></div>
<div><b><br></b></div><div>I checked the LVM displays for both the harddisks, i.e lvdisplay, vgdisplay, and pvdisplay. Because of the default installs they were having the same name!!!!<br>so, may be because of this on the fly when they are mounted I am getting mixed file systems!!!</div>

Can you please check your fstabs in both installations please? Are they<br>
listed as<br>
<br>
/dev/sdX or as<br>
<br>
/dev/disk-by-label or /dev/disk-by-uuid?<br>
<br>
If they're listed as /dev/sdX, whatever disk is detected first gets sda<br>
and so on, which could be why you get mixed file systems.<br>
<br>
If this is the case, just modifying your fstab to use<br>
'disk-by-label/disk-by-uuid' *should* do the trick.<br>
<br>
I still think that the disk you mount off should get /dev/sda already,<br>
but since I don't have this setup I can't confirm.<br>

external disks as data/backup disks :)<br>
