<div dir="ltr"><div><p>Hi,<br><br>An event was organized at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 AFS[1],
Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Tuesday, 30 April, 2013.
</p>The day started with the discussion about why software piracy is done specially of operating system, why we are unable to
learn the
software we use or modify it, which was followed by “Introduction to
Open
Source”. I discussed about advantages of open source and explained the
concept
of “Free Software” to them which was followed by “Why to use Free
Software”. I
told them about about various free software which can used in by them like Libre office, GIMP, gedit. I also discussed
advantages of FOSS in
a student's learning.<br> After a few minutes
break, I continued with “Introduction to Fedora” to them and advantages
of
Fedora was discussed with them. I introduced the audience with Fedora's
website
and also I gave demo of Fedora 17 and Fedora 18 to them. It was followed
with a
hand-on lab session which included “How to install Fedora” and then
students
were left to experience Fedora for few minutes. After that a Q/A session
was
there in which various queries of the students were answered. I also
distributed Fedora 17 and Fedora 18 iso images.<br><br><p>I would sincerely like to thank Mr. Rohit Gupta who helped me through out the
