There are mails on fedora-devel about nspr causing the font size issues. I 
think there were also some issues with hal, so that may have caused the 
device notifier to fail. Not sure about the KDE stuff, haven't been using the 
laptop for PIM yet, though I will be over spring break as the desktop is 
rooted.
