What is a "forward map" in dhcp?

The DHCP log looks totally normal and nothing related to the DHCP 
protocol is being rejected. What is being rejected is the DHCP server's 
try to update the DNS server with a reverse DNS (PTR) entry. As the DNS 
server does not seem to be configured to allow this the request is rejected.
