Inline rename gone in 4.8//Dolphin 2.0 (and konqueror)

This bug report explains why inline renaming is no longer possible in 
Dolphin (and konqueror too it seems):

They claim it will be back in the 4.9 KDE and/or Dolphin 2.1. Will F16 
eventually upgrade to these or will it require >=F17?

Opinion: Dropping features and confusing users in mid-stream and then 
promising to bring them back is not good practice.
