Hi,
I was just lucky that KMail came up on line. Now it starts offline again. I've
tried with a fresh user and got the same result.
In KMail the system tray icon is enabled in the mode "Only show KMail in
system tray if there are unread messages" (=default). When I set it to "Always
show KMail in system tray" at log in I get a kwallet open request for the
imap-account (the behavior I was used to in kde 4.8.x). One would think that
hidden programs/icons are no longer saved at end of session. This is, however,
not the case in fc18. So I'm out of ideas. :-(
May be someone has an idea?

btw. to work around this issue you can enable "Check mail on startup"
(Configure -> Accounts Receiving -> Retrieval Options)
