How to permanently delete a folder in Kmail?

Every time I open kmail, there are 4 folders (empty) that I can't seem to get 
rid of.  I will select one of the  folders and click delete, and it 
disappears, but next time I login, and kmail start up again, the folder is 
back again.  Any suggestions of how to make these permanent are more than 
welcome.
