Thank you Brad.  I had a look at the page. And may well follow it up.

Ideally I would like some one I can work with.  Some one that would say go and 
do this. And be able to give me pointers on the way 


Trouble is that there is so much to chose from.   making rpms, checking  code, 
documentation,
