</div>To build kde4 for rhel5, one needs about a bazillion new dependencies,<br>
and it replaces the standard kde3-based desktop, so more potential<br>
breakage there.<br>

So, building all the deps, and the whole kde4 core stack, plus all the<br>
good kde4-related applications to go with it... and end up replacing<br>
much of the qt/kde stack shipped with rhel5.<br>

In short, the problem is that it's a *lot* of work (for questionable<br>
gain => a relatively small target audience).<br>
