>>>> Hi alex!
>>>>
>>>> We have discussed this in the past,
but not much really came of it TBH,
>>>> so thanks for bringing this up again!
It is defninely something that I would
>>>> love to see happen
>>>>
>>>>
>>>> For initial investigation, few
questions I would like to ask,
>>>>
>>>> 1) What type file format does Fedora
                  Magazine created in? (Raw format
>>>> like txt, po, xml?)
>>>>
>>>> Everything is stored in Wordpress --
the "source" of the posts could be
>>>> classed as a HTML snippet however,
which may be able to be placed into
>>>> Zanata. There are also a bunch of
different plugins for wordpress that could
>>>> be investigated to see if we could
use those to distribute localized content
>>>> (this is where previous discussions
                  focused on IIRC)
>>>>
>>>> 2) What is the usual timeframe for QA
on the content before it is
>>>> publish? (if localised, we might need
                  to schedule QA for translations)
>>>>
>>>> SOme posts are published straight
                  away, especially the news-style posts
>>>> that link to other content. The
longer form articles like how-tos and
>>>> release announcements usually are
ready and waiting for publishing a few
>>>> days in advance. There is really no
offciial "QA" of posts really yet
>>>> however.
>>>>
>>>> 3) Is it possible to get a copy of
                  the file for previous Fedora
>>>> Magazine? Would like to do some
                  testing on Zanata.
>>>>
>>>>
your FAS account using this procedure
>>>> -- http://fedoramagazine.org/logging-into-fedora-magazine-with-fas/

                  >>>> this thread once you have done that,

                  >>>> author status, and you should be able
to pull the source for each post.
>>>>
>>>> The other piece of the puzzle is the
                  localization of the actual theme,
>>>> and the source for the theme is
                  available here --
>>
>> Yeah, I have been doing some research into
this, and there seems to be two
>> plugins that are most popular for presenting
                  localized content. They both
>> work in similar ways -- when you edit a post,
there is a tab for each
>> language that you put the localized content
                  in:
>>
>> 1. Q Translate X -- this one seems to be the
                  most popular, and more
>> polished than the second option. There have
                  been several other ones like
>> this (qtranslate, mtranslate) that seem to be
                  abandonded now, and this one
>> is the active fork of those projects
>
>
> Nice.
> Alex in that case may be we can simply start one
                  new project in Zanata
> specifically for Magazine and put content of one
                  article into it. And ask
> L10N to translate. We can use it for testing
                  purpose.
>
>
>>
>> 2. WPGlobus [https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpglobus/]
                  -- seems a little
>> less polished and popular than Q translate X,
but it does have a plugin that
>> allows us to present translated versions of
                  the featured images, which
>> qtranslatex does not do. We routinely have
text in the feature images, so
>> this might be a good one to consider too.
>>
>> I havent looked at how to automate this
however -- wordpress does have an
>> XMLRPC interface, but not sure if you can
                  interact with these plugins via
>> that interface. The other option is to
                  manually put in the translated
>> content into wordpress via the edit pages.
>
>
> Manual will be tricky but may be for Proof of
Concept, let go with it :)
