LIRC is a package that allows you to decode and send infra-red and
other signals of many (but not all) commonly used remote controls.
Included applications include daemons which decode the received

Update Information:

Update to latest upstream release of lirc, which has been stable for several
months now, and is required for full functionality of some lirc devices with the
2.6.32 kernel landing in f11 updates.
