 I'm also about to create topic branches to keep SCL spec for few packages
 and I still don't see anything wrong about that. Actually, I like that
 idea and it does make sense to me to use topic branches in that way.

 The concerns about unwanted mails don't seem like an issue to me, since in
 most cases the primary package maintainers care about changes done to the
 SCL branch, or at least they don't care about some more mails. In the rest
 cases we have mailbox filters.

 As for the content not suitable for Fedora -- that's actually purpose of
 the topic branches, that there is some content not suitable for Fedora
 yet. I see no problem here either.
