status on mentor work

Folks:

We are probably going to delay our announcement about which student
proposals are accepted for 48 hours, until 30 May (9:59 am UTC 31
May).  We're sorry for the delay.  We have a lot of proposals and
details to work out manually, and we want to make our best decisions.

Sometime tonight we'll send an update to this list about the funding
situation and our plans for splitting that amongst so many worthy
projects.  That email will also confirm if we are in fact going to
delay until Sunday.
