It is 'moot' ;-) like loose for lose, this is one of those alternative

Autofs is working fine, you can do some cool things with it. It automounts
things when you touch the mountpoint, and auto-umounts them (with a sync)
after a preset amount of time is passed without anything on the mounted
filesystem getting touched.
The script mentioned in my sig makes use of it and I did not have any
problems. Now if there was a GUI to control autofs ... maybe there's a
little project for me or someone else.
