I'd venture that within 20 minutes after a cold boot, all four of my 
workspaces are full and I never see my desktop background again until I 
am forced to reboot or really shutdown for some reason, frequently a 
couple weeks after that initial boot.

I wonder how many users actually ever see their background? Or for how 
much of their 'run' time?
