Please test basic video driver in 14 Beta TC1

But then what's going on in the 2 out of 3 of my bare metal boxes which I tested
as well and wouldn't work either? I suppose it could be coincidence, since only
one of the two had exactly the same behavior, but the vesa driver previously
worked on that machine.
