PXEBOOT fails on a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 and on a NFORCEE6M-A
with a kernel panic about "no or empty root".

DVD install succeeds on the NFORCE board but ethernet
cannot be configured under Gnome or Xfce.

DVD install fails on the Gigabyte board after selecting
basic storage devices.
