Yes, by all means muddy the waters of general explanation with specific
exceptions! That'll help.

Standards are almost always incomplete and susceptible to different
interpretations, but let's face it, the point is basically valid. You
pretty much expect to plug in any old yumcha USB mouse and have at least
movements and two buttons work. You don't go looking around for HCLs and
special drivers.
