Upstream packages v.s. Fedora packages

Probably more of a quality issue than a testing issue.

I've got a bugzilla in for LibreOffice on KDE (890474).  The bottom line for my question is....

I download and install LibreOffice directly from their site and there is no failure.  The installed packages from Fedora exhibit the failure.  Since I'm not a packager/maintainer I'd like to understand how could that happen?
