Yep. Happened to someone here at work with CentOS 7 I believe.
One of the many reasons I would never in a million years
use a shared /boot :-).

If I want to multi-boot, I use a stand alone master grub and
configfile and/or chainload/multiboot directives in the
master grub to get to the separate OS installations which
each have their very own /boot.
