Curiosity re: /var/spool/mail by beginner??

Hi,
What you can do, is to edit (as root)
/etc/aliases
and uncomment the example
#root marc
to
root [your email]
and now you will receive all emails that are for root in your own mailbox,
this way you will never see the message "you have email" and also the
mailbox of root user will remain empty
