With the printer plugged in and switched on, what does this command
say?:
ls -l /dev/usblp /dev/usb/lp0
It should be something like this:
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 7 Aug 20 11:55 /dev/usblp0 -> usb/lp0
crw-rw----. 1 root lp 180, 0 Aug 20 11:55 /dev/usb/lp0
i.e. usblp0 is a symlink to usb/lp0, which is group-rw for lp.
