FWIW I can't speak to Samsung printers, but FYI my el-cheapo Brother
laser printer has been working great for 3 years or so now with my various
Linux systems. Brother provides open source drivers for many/most of their
printers, but to be honest I've never needed to worry about it, I just use
cups/foomatic drivers that come with the distribution for it and it works.
