I agree. In designing the user interface "coolness" was paramount, not functionality, a bad recipe. That pervasive philosophy coupled with arrogance--consumers really don't know what they want--you end up with crap that looks "cool," but lacks ease and simplicity of operation.
KISS is my advice to the designers of Huludesktop.
