Thanks for the link.
To me it means, it is not related to my main problem - no i8k.ko module
to use. Thus it becomes out of my concern.

I'm really not sure this bug is related to my problem with i8k.ko.
You see, in my case, it is not that i8k.ko module are failing reporting
an error. In my case i8k.ko module cannot be found at all in the
location it DOES exists.
For me the most puzzling is the output of modprobe command. Which looks
for the i8k.ko module not in the indicated directory but in not existing
one instead. Remember "dash" vs. "underscore" in the path name of my
original post?
