ctrl-alt F2, F3... etc. will get you a command line session.

Have you run this ?
mv /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r)-nouveau.img
dracut /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img $(uname -r)
