BIOS doesn't see hard drive with Fedora 16, may it be an install issue?

If this is a laptop, you must have some kind of "entry-key" to get
full access to the bios settings. If you can't permanently change 
the boot drive from within there, you have two possibilities left:

1. Get a bios update, flash it and see if things have changed.
2. You have a broken computer/bios. Deliver it back to where it came
from and get your money back.
