Write /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules to change the device names to 
anything you wish. Such will take precedence over this physical location naming
scheme. Such rules may look like:

SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", \
ATTR{address}=="00:11:22:33:44:55", ATTR{type}=="1", \
KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="public"
