Not really. They examine open source software, claim there's a copyright
or patent infringement making it unlawful to disseminate.
A S&W gun is legal in and of itself; an analogy that would fit your
question is if someone uses a FOSS platform to crack a site's security.
The platform's not at fault, the use is.
Analogies are such slippery things.
