The only thing strange about my system that I haven't mentioned so far is that the boot partition (/boot) is on a standard partition on /dev/sda1, while the root partition (/) is on a logical volume (/dev/Volume00/LogVol00) that is shared between the remainder of /dev/sda and /dev/sdb.<BR>

I would think that if this situation were an impossibility, that neither the SMP or the non-SMP kernel would boot.<BR>
