</div>It's not that it's per-application -- rather, it's done in the client<br>
libraries of CUPS (libcups) rather than in the server.<br>

One reason to do it this way is to avoid needing to run a CUPS server on<br>

</div>If you're using F-18 clients and want things to work "as before", use<br>
CUPS Browsing. For that you'll need to enable cups-browsed on the server<br>
and configure it to announce printers using the "CUPS" protocol rather<br>
