While it isn't any simpler, but you can probably do something using
guestfish and virt-win-reg. Extract the driver from the floppy disk
image using guestfish:

$ guestfish --ro -a viostor-31-03-2010-floppy.img
><fs> mount /dev/sda /
><fs> ll /i386/WinXP
total 209
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root    512 Apr  5 07:58 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root    512 Apr  5 07:58 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root   1320 Apr  5 03:23 viostor.cat
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root   2417 Mar 31 18:33 viostor.inf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 199680 Apr  5 03:14 viostor.pdb
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root   8576 Apr  5 03:14 viostor.sys
><fs> download /i386/WinXP/viostor.sys /tmp/viostor.sys

and use the same registry editing technique that we use in virt-v2v to
install the driver:
