Fedora 16 XFCE spin language problem

What does 'cat /etc/sysconfig/i18n' return?

Is "Thunar --deamon" running when you log in? Is it still running after
you close a Thunar window?

This is handled through xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update. Is it executed on
login?
