Corrupted database again, with 389 MMR replication and TCP errors

We are still having this issue, every so often. Sometimes a 389 database becomes unresponsive to queries, and the log shows errors (full log below) We started a thread back in Nov, but didnt really get a resolution. https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-directory-users/2009-November/msg0... The only way to fix it seems to be to re-import a replication export from a provider. I am new, so I'm not sure whether this is the right place to report this, or should I submit a bug? Some background - we have 3 masters that replication to each other and to 2 replication hubs. Those hubs replicate to each other and to 12 slaves in 2 data centers. We have host based firewalls, network based firewalls, and routers, and our replications do pass through firewalls and routers, even between masters. So, based on that, I am concerned that there are replication sessions that might be getting interrupted, and that might be contributing to the problem. The situation doesnt happen daily, or neccessarily correlate to all of the TCP errors. But the situation could happen again during the next week or so. What other information and logging should we be gathering to figure out what is happening here? Should we create a bug on this? SNMP trouble

Hi! I have set up SNMP on our server. While it responds to my queries it reports only data from the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.2312.6.5.1 (dsEntityEntry) All other variables seem to be empty. For instance, a query for .1.3.6.1.4.1.2312.6.3.1.9 (dsURL) : [host] snmpwalk -Cp -On -v 1 -c comunity localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.2312.6.3.1.9 Variables found: 0 The same happens if I do it a bit further up the tree: [host] snmpwalk -Cp -On -v 1 -c comunity localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.2312.6 (rhds) Only the values from dsEntityEntry are returned. 1.2.5.rc2 was accidentally released to FC6/EL5 stable

389-ds-base 1.2.5.rc2 was accidentally released to FC6/EL5 stable instead of testing. This only affected the FC6/EL5 packages. The Fedora packages are in the correct testing repos. This problem has now been fixed - 1.2.5.rc2 is available from the testing repo - the latest stable version of 389-ds-base is 1.2.2. I apologize for any problems or confusion.

problem during installation: conflicts between fedora-ds-base and 389-ds-base

Rich, I installed from dirsrv and dirsrv-noarch repos. Is there a reason why RC is released in dirsrv and dirsrv-noarch repos? I was not planning on using testing repo as yet. how to set up 389 DS as a Kerberos backend

Hi all, I have searched the admin guide and the Internet for a howto on this subject but found none so far. However, I did find some howto's but they apply only to openldap. Following these guides I find the 60kerberos.ldif and 60krb5kdc.ldif files in the /var/lib/dirsrv/data directory but I have failed to import them to the DS, using the console (I haven't tried the commandline but I think it will fail). Extra info: OS: fedora 12 x64 DS: 1.2.5-rc1 Thank you.

Hi Rich, I destroyed by testbox x64 running 389-ds-base 1.2.2 and did a fresh install which pulled new 389-ds-base RC-2. I had to install with nogpgcheck and it went fine. But when I ran setup script, I got below error. Ug, I could have sworn I looked at this and it was OK, but now I see it is not :-( I could have sworn I tested this but I must have goofed something in my test. Maybe forgot to remove the local /etc/passwd entry or something. Username - I'd like to have a Posix username like "amckay", but a wiki username like AlanMcKay I guess it all goes by the "User ID" field from the main page. My problem is that I have existing wikis so need usernames like WIkiNames. I tested this and it works fine with the apache ldap auth module. But I'd also like to keep the existing Posix usernames. Though I guess in a pinch I could easily switch existing Posix usernames over to a wikiname. But I'm certain I'll have a lot of complaints about it.
