Try using ldapsearch from the command line with -D
"uid=admin,
ou=Administrators, ou=TopologyManagement, o=NetscapeRoot" -w yourpassword
If that still gives error 49, then try using -w youroldpassword
If that works, then the password change did not take effect for some
reason. Try using ldapmodify from the command line to change the password.

There is no easy way to do this? I have access to Directory Manager.
